Bad News for Brainy People

JOHN THE BAPTIST

Jesus said John the Baptist was one of the greatest prophets that ever lived. He was filled with the Holy Spirit from birth, and he also possessed the spirit of the mighty prophet Elijah. In fact, John's whole mission was to be the herald who went before the Lord to prepare the people for the Messiah's soon and immediate coming. However, when Jesus arrived at the River Jordan at the appointed time to be baptized and start his public ministry of miracles, not one single person discerned that Jesus was the Son of God! As for John, the mighty man of God, the only thing that helped him recognize the divinity that was hidden in Jesus was revelation knowledge.

"Then John gave this testimony: 'I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' I have seen and testify that this is the Son of God."   John 1:32-34

If you are one of those who trust in your word studies, your concordances, your scholarly books and your religious libraries to discern the Living Jesus who constantly moves among his people, then you will miss him. The brilliance of your own minds will blind you to the subtle light that the Spirit gives off when Jesus walks among us, disguised in various human forms.

Unless you are open to supernatural communications from our Living God, you won't know Jesus either!
