Bad News for Brainy People

BUILDING A HOUSE Don't fall into the deadly trap of trying to be a "Bible Answer Man," confidently spouting off interpretations for all of the hard, difficult, symbolic, prophetic or perplexing passages of Scripture. If God hides something in his Living Word, then He has a very good reason for a particular set of verses to remain vague, obscure, or even conflicting with other portions of the Bible. God sets priorities for every generation, and His Truths are often progressive. As the Master Builder of the Church, Hebrews 3:4 God knows that first must come the foundation, then the walls, then the roof, and then all of the finishing work. 1 Corinthians 3:10 God is wise enough to know that it would be foolish to put the roof on His church if the walls have not yet been anchored in place. Therefore, it is a form of human pride that tries to go ahead of God, trying to force on His church the "roof verses" of Scripture outside of God's timing. It is God's mercy that caused Him to hide His "roof truths." Therefore, when reading passages of Scripture that are symbolic, conflicting or hard to understand, learn to be wise, RELAX, and realize that it is OK to say with Daniel, "I don't know what it means." |
