Bad News for Brainy People

JERUSALEM

When Jesus made his triumphal entry, he paused to weep and mourn over Jerusalem. Their Messiah had come, and yet in less than a week, they would with great hostility put him to death. Why? Because Jesus didn't meet their preconceived expectations! Their natural, logical minds were offended at what he said and what he did, even though all his acts were kind and healing deeds!

Two thousand years later, we Christians are preparing ourselves for the Second Coming of our Messiah and Deliverer. I suspect, however, that we will make the same mistake they did: we will try to discern God and His plans in these last days with our natural minds. Just like the Pharisees of old, we will be without revelation knowledge, so we also will totally miss what God is doing. In fact, we may very well find ourselves persecuting God's people just like college-educated Saul did!

Do not trust in your eschatology charts to make your way through the treacherous and stormy waters of this earth's final history. Be truly wise, and learn to stop and listen to the soft whispering voice of the Holy Spirit. Keep an open heart before the Lord and a teachable spirit.

If it has been a long time since you have personally heard from the Holy Spirit, then you are in danger of becoming like the foolish virgins, who's lamps burned up all their oil as they slept during the Bridegroom's long delay. Matthew 25:1-13  Wake up, and get the fresh oil of the Holy Spirit that brings revelation knowledge. Only that burning oil gives true light, and not the number of books we have read or written or studied.
