CHRIST IS THE HEAD
"Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior." Ephesians 5:23
Do you want to see how worthless your mind is to God? He says it is going to have to be totally replaced. You need to be "beheaded," with Christ's head put in its place. This is not good news for those of you who think your own reasoning powers are good enough for searching out God. Take seriously this command of God:
"'For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?' But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2:16
And how do we know we have the mind of Christ? The answer is that we will act like him. We will esteem others better than ourselves. Philippians 2:3 We will intercede with prayers and loud cries for those who are lost. Hebrews 5:7 We will love one another. John 15:17 We go about, doing good. Matthew 4:23,24 We will become servants, and stoop ourselves down to "wash dirty feet." John 13:14
These are but few of the many good qualities that Jesus exhibited, and if he has replaced our head with his own head, then we will truly think like him, and do the things he did. If fact, he promises that those who let him be their head, they will do greater things than he did. John 14:12
