TRUTH AND SPIRIT 

"God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth."  John 4:24 

The Pentecostals have got the Spirit part down pretty good, while churches such as the Baptists and Adventists have a strong emphasis on the Truth. Neither group has a balance of them both. 

Think of worship as a set of train tracks: the left track is called Spirit and the right track is called Truth. The pastor is the Locomotive and the railcars the church members. Most churches have their train riding on only one of the two tracks: the other set of wheels drags and scrapes in the dirt, rock and gravel. Is it any wonder that the experience we call "Church" is such a bumpy and uncomfortable ride? 

For those of you who worship in the Spirit, now is the time to become balanced; now is the time to learn to worship God in your minds in the Temple of Truth. Learn to discipline your minds to study God's word carefully and with sound teaching, so you may worship God more fully, as He requires. 

For those of you who worship in Truth, now is the time to worship God in the Temple of your Heart. Get rid of your heart of stone, and receive God's gift of a tender heart of flesh, that knows how to feel, and expresses those feelings. Ezekiel 36:26  Let your emotions out of their deep prison, so they might worship God with the loud praises and joyful shouts that He deserves. Psalm 149:3   Strip off the stuffy cloaks of dead legalism, and dance before the Lord with all your might, as King David so exuberantly did. 2 Samuel 6:12-22  

Loosen up, and learn what this verse means: 

"Greet one another with a holy kiss." 1 Corinthians 16:20
