Bad News for Brainy People

DON'T TELL THEM WHAT GOD SAID

I assume by now that you have become convinced of the necessity of seeking out revelation knowledge from our Living God. Once you do hear from God, it may surprise you to know that in some cases, you are not supposed to tell anyone what you heard! Here is what Paul had to say about some of his Revelations:

"And I know that this man [Paul was talking about himself] -- whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows -- was caught up into paradise. He heard inexpressible things, things that man is not permitted to tell."  2 Corinthians 12:3,4

The apostle John had similar restraints put upon him:

"And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven say, 'Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down.'"  Revelation 10:4

Remember, some of the things you will hear from God are for you and you alone. These are personal secrets between you and God, and will only cause confusion, harm and misunderstandings if you speak them out. Now, this does not mean that God is passing out new and secret doctrines, as some people have so perversely distorted, such as David Koresh telling everyone that God had revealed that he was a new Jesus, and that all their women were supposed to have sex with him. NO!

Revelation 2:17 says God will give you a name that no one else knows. Why are these love names keep secret? Because they are just between you and Jesus, like a husband who calls his beloved wife "Snookums," or "Honeybuns," or "Sweetkins." We keep these names to ourselves, because they are meant to be special, and to share them with others would rob their glory, and cause them to be roughly handled by those who are ignorant and crude.
