Pray For The Interpretation
One of the primary tools you will need for correct dream interpretation is divine intervention, and you get this by asking for it. We call that prayer. Most of the current experts in dream interpretation are outside the Christian community, since the New Age movement has eagerly embraced dreams as part of the new emphasis on supernatural and mystical experiences. But as a Christian, prayer will give you a superior advantage over all others who claim to have the skill of Dream Interpretation.
Dreams belong to God, so it only makes sense to ask God what He is saying through the dream symbols. When Pharaoh asked Joseph to explain what his dream meant, he very wisely replied: "'I cannot do it,' Joseph replied to Pharaoh, 'but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires."' Genesis 41:16
Daniel, who is perhaps the premier Dream Expert in all of scripture, relied very heavily on prayer to get the divine intervention he needed for the harder dreams. When king Nebuchadnezzar threatened to execute all of the Babylonian wise men for failure to reveal his dream Daniel succeeded where they failed, because he and his friends prayed for the interpretation:
"Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision." Daniel 2:17-19
As you seek to understand your dreams, always pray first! If it pleases God to give you an immediate answer, then so much the better. You will have confidence the interpretation will be correct, and you will save yourself a lot of wasted time and effort. And if you don't get an answer, then don't worry about it.
