The Hidden Jesus  -Editor          Hit Counter

It may surprise you that although Jesus is a very skillful Author, Hebrews 12:2  his books still need to be edited before they are published. You would not expect that to be true of someone like Jesus, who does everything to perfection. However, he does write under some special circumstances, for he is writing out the story of our lives with Living Words, Acts 7:37,38  and those words often move around the page to places they don't belong.

Therefore, when Jesus gets to the last paragraph of each of his books, 2 Corinthians 3:3  he goes back over every page and edits out our sins. Isaiah 1:18

"If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? but with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared."  Psalm 130:3,4

LOVE KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS1 Corinthians 13:5  and once our life stories are ended, Jesus plays the role of Editor, putting the "finishing touches" on our stories by editing out all our sins. Hebrews 12:2  This good news is so hard for us sin-damaged Christians to believe, that the Bible has left us some brief examples of Jesus as Editor:

Moses really screwed up when he murdered an Egyptian. Pharaoh found out and sent the police to arrest him; Moses became afraid, and fled to Median. Exodus 2:11-15  This is what really  happened; but look how Jesus the Editor rewrote that portion of Moses' life:

"by faith [Moses] left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger;" Hebrews 11:27

Jesus removed all mention of Moses' sin of murder, and  Jesus the Editor replaced his fear with faith.

David was a liar, 1 Samuel 27:7‑11  an adulterer,  2 Samuel 11:1‑4  a murderer, 2 Samuel 12:9  and a sex addict. 2 Samuel 20:3  He also clearly violated Moses' law by taking to himself many wives. Deuteronomy 17:16,17 & 1 Chronicles 14:3 And yet, after David's life was over, Jesus the Editor went back and removed David's sinful failings, and rewrote his story until it reads like this:

"For David had done what was right in the eyes of the Lord and had not failed to keep any of the Lord's commands all the days of his life ‑‑ except in the case of Uriah the Hittite."1 Kings 15:5

No mention of lying, adultery, sexual lusts or even murder; just a vague, innocuous reference to some guy named Uriah.

It is absolutely revolting to read that Lot was willing to let his two daughters be gang-raped by a violent homosexual mob, Genesis 19:4-8  and you would think that surely, Jesus in his holiness would have to let this incident remain recorded against Lot in all its vileness. However, Jesus became SIN   2 Corinthians 5:21  that he might gain the "purchasing rights" to be the Editor of all who believed in him, so now through that purchase, Jesus has gained the divine right to edit out our sins and edit in his holiness. Hebrews 13:12

Since Lot was a worshiper of the True God, Jesus the Editor was able to rewrite Lot's story, so that his time in Sodom is recorded for eternity like this:

"...Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)--" 2 Peter 2:7,8

It is true that for the wicked, every idle word they speak Matthew 12:36  and every vile deed they do IS recorded in Heaven's eternal books, Revelation 20:12-15  but that is because they are writing their OWN stories, and they have not chosen for Jesus to be their Author. Consequently, everything they say and do remains untouched by the Holy Hands of Jesus, and every single jot and tittle of their lives is left recorded, exactly as they lived it.

But for us who choose Jesus to be the Author of our Salvation Hebrews 2:10  and the Author of our lives, Acts 3:15  we are automatically allowing him to be the Editor of our life stories, and the spilt blood of Jesus permanently wipes out all our mistakes, our errors, our sins, our flaws, our failures and our rebellions.  Hebrews 9:14

"'In those days, at that time,' declares the Lord, 'Search will be made for Israel's guilt, but there will be none, and for the sins of Judah, but none will be found, for I will forgive the remnant I spare.'"   Jeremiah 50:20
