Wide Awake Then!
To see his bashed up body
bleeding,
nailed to my breakfast table
by my own midnight
shouting with the nightmare crowds:
CRUCIFY HIM! CRUCIFY HIM!

I yell it twice.
I'm always caffeine grouchy
from my sinning,
but then when I taste anew
the revelation goodness
of my Lord who died for me,
I receive my morning paper of
forgiveness,
where because of his great love,
before you know,
I am showered, shaved and saved!
