Prurigo Nodularis

Here is a list of wonderful people who have been praying for me to be healed of this dreadful disease of Prurigo. If I have missed your name, please let me know, because I am eager to honor here everyone who has prayed for my recovery.

I have always been told that prayer is "powerful and effective;" and I fully believe it does indeed have great power, for I have seen some amazing results from my own prayers for people over the years. However, in this situation, I must confess that prayer is a great mystery to me. What I WANT to happen is for one person to say one prayer, and then for ALL my bumps and sores to instantly disappear. After all, there are many cases in the Bible of "incurable" lepers experiencing such dramatic healing.

Unfortunately that has not been my experience. About seventy people have been praying for me these past two months, and some, like Terry Reibstein, have prayed almost 15 times a day on my behalf. And yet most of the sores and bumps on my body still remain. I do know that all these prayers have had a very positive effect on me, because even my dermatologist was amazed when I saw him on April 1, 2003. I had been doing NBUVB treatments from March 17 to March 31, and during those two weeks the severe rash on my arms disappeared, all the scabs fell off, and 90% of the intense itchiness in my body went away from the NBUVB treatments.

In addition, in my most desperate times these past three months I have sent out requests on my e-mail prayer list, and within an hour I always felt better. And that's because people started praying for me right then. Dealing with this disease has caused me to be suicidal and to almost forsake my Christian faith, and it has plunged me into despair and hopelessness. I am convinced that the prayers of all these various friends (and strangers) have indeed uplifted my spirits, restored my faith and hope, and led me to the right doctor and right treatments (NBUVB), and speeded up my healing.
