PRURIGO NODULARIS --Food Supplements

In addition to allopathic or traditional medicine, many of us do use
homeopathic, naturopathic, or complimentary methods to help with PN.
I was talking to a Nutritionist the other day and she gave me some
tips to shopping for Food Supplements. I'm posting her tips so we
can all benefits from her 30 years of experience in the area of
Natural Healing.

1) At least get a minimum of three independent sources for any
claims to a specific supplement. Unfortunately, not all companies
are honest and some will misrepresent and claim a supplement can do
certain things or have certain properties when there is no evidence
of such. Sometimes, these claims are just perpetual urban myth.

2) Ask for referrals about a specific supplement. When others
have used a specific supplement, their endorsement will help you to
decide if you want to try it too.

3) Ask for referrals about specific companies. When others have
used specific companies and have had good experiences, that will help
you to make better and informed decisions.

4) Ask if the company has a 100% product guarantee. That means
no restocking fee, with 100% refund of the product cost. Honest and
great companies have 100% money back guarantee because they are so
confident about their products.

5) If cost is a major issue for you, ask if the company has a
lowest price guarantee where they will match or even beat whatever
legitimate price you can find. Effectiveness and quality of the
supplement are my primary concern followed by the best price.
Everything else being equal, I still try to find the best price for
the same product. There are a lot of price differences if one is
willing to ask around and do your homework.

6) Research a product to find the best type of supplements. For
example, Vitamin E comes in synthetic and natural types. Everything
I've read tells me natural is better than synthetic. In the Vitamin
E family, there is alpha, gamma, or mixed Tocopherols. Understand
what type is best before buying.

7) Research which company is best for which supplement. One
company may be best for a certain supplement but not the best for
other supplements. Here's where asking questions and getting
referrals are important.

8) Beware of Multi-level marketing companies that sell
supplements using a unique name. For example, there is a company
that is currently marketing a product under a unique name and it
turns out that the product is just Cat's Claw, which is not a unique
product and is widely available. But from the company's sales
material, they make it sound like they are the only people who have
such a product. Anyhow, I refer you to advice one, get at least 3
minimum independent sources for any claims. I'm not saying all Multi-
Level products are bad. I'm just saying that their products are not
as unique as they would have you believe.

9) Be Patience. Supplements are used to correct chronic long-
term problems. It took a long time to develop PN and it's
unrealistic to expect an overnight cure. Any drugs that can cause
rapid changes usually will carry unwanted side effects too. The
purpose of homeopathic and naturopathic methods is to address the
long-term cause of the problems, instead of just addressing the short-
term symptomatic relief.
