The Event |
1 |
And the fifth angel sounded. |
1 |
And I saw a star fall from the heaven to the earth, |
1 |
and it was given the key of the abyss. --Rev 9:1 |
2 |
And it opened the bottomless pit. |
2 |
And there arose a smoke out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace. |
2 |
And the sun and air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit. --Rev 9:2 |
3 |
And out of the smoke came forth locusts onto the earth. |
3 |
And authority was given to them, |
3 |
as the scorpions of the earth have authority. --Rev 9:3 |
4 |
And they were commanded not to hurt the grass of the earth, |
4 |
or any green thing, |
4 |
or any tree, |
4 |
but only those men who do not have the seal of God in their foreheads. --Rev 9:4 |
5 |
And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months. |
5 |
And their torment was like a scorpion's torment when he stings a man. --Rev 9:5 |
6 |
And in those days men will seek death and will not find it. And they will long to die, and death will flee from them. --Rev 9:6 |
7 |
And the shapes of the locusts |
7 |
were li ke horses prepared for battle. |
7 |
And on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, |
7 |
and their faces were like the faces of men. --Rev 9:7 |
8 |
And they had hairs like the hairs of women, |
8 |
and their teeth were like the teeth of lions. --Rev 9:8 |
9 |
And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron. |
9 |
And the sound of their wings |
9 |
was like the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. --Rev 9:9 |
10 |
And they had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. |
10 |
And their authority was to hurt men five months. --Rev 9:10 |
11 |
And they had a king over them, |
11 |
the angel of the bottomless pit, |
11 |
whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in Greek his name is Apollyon. --Rev 9:11 |
12 |
The first woe is past. Behold, after these things yet come two woes. --Rev 9:12 |
13 |
And the sixth angel sounded his trumpet. |
13 |
And I heard a voice |
13 |
from the four horns of the golden altar before God, --Rev 9:13 |
14 |
saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, |
14 |
Loose the four angels |
14 |
who are bound at the great river Euphrates. --Rev 9:14 |
15 |
And the four angels were loosed, |
15 |
who were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, |
15 |
in order to slay the third part of men. --Rev 9:15 |
16 |
200 MILLION |
And the number of the armies of the horsemen was two myriads of myriads. And I heard their number. --Rev 9:16 |
17 |
And so I saw the horses in the vision, and those sitting on them, |
17 |
having breastplates of fire, even dusky red and brimstone. |
17 |
And the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions. |
17 |
And out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. --Rev 9:17 |
18 |
By these three the third part of men was killed, by the fire, |
18 |
and by the smoke, |
18 |
and by the brimstone which issued out of their mouths. --Rev 9:18 |
19 |
For their authority is in their mouth |
19 |
and in their tails. |
19 |
For their tails were like serpents with heads, and with them they do harm. --Rev 9:19 |
20 |
And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the works of their hands, |
20 |
that they should not worship demons, |
20 |
and golden, and silver, and bronze, and stone, and wooden idols (which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk). --Rev 9:20 |
21 |
And they did not repent of their murders, |
21 |
nor of their sorceries, |
21 |
nor of their fornication, |
21 |
nor of their thefts. --Rev 9:21 |
