The Event

Then I stood on the sand of the sea.

And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea,

having seven heads and ten horns,
1
and on his horns ten crowns,
1
and on his heads a blasphemous name. --Rev 13:1

And the beast which I saw was like a leopard,

and its feet like those
of a bear,2
and its mouth like the mouth of a lion.

And the dragon gave him its power
2
and its seat
2
and great authority. --Rev 13:2

And I saw one of its heads as having been slain to death, and its deadly wound was healed.

And all the earth marveled after the beast.

And they worshiped the dragon

who gave authority to the beast.

And they worshiped the beast, saying, Who is like the beast?

Who is able to make war with it?

And a mouth speaking great things was given to it, and blasphemies.

And authority was given to it to continue forty-two months.

And it opened its mouth in blasphemy toward God,

and His tabernacle,

and those dwelling in Heaven.
