A Whole Lot More!

The Opposition of Satan

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is full of abundant good news, far beyond what you can imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Keep in mind, though, that satan is still a very powerful foe, and is constantly working 24 hours a day to block us from receiving and enjoying the beautiful things our good God has given us. Reread the story of Joseph in Genesis chapters 39-41, where you will find satan constantly striving to bring harm to Joseph, but God was continually working for his success, and good triumphed over evil!

The Mystery of Suffering

Even though the gospel of Jesus is full of good news and wonderful gifts, we still must live in a sin-damaged world. This means we are not exempt from suffering. (John 16:33, Philippians 1:29, 1 Peter 1:6, 1 Peter 4:12-19) However, keep in mind that even though Christians must sometimes suffer and endure troubles and difficulties, sinners eventually have even more pain and suffering than us, because sin produces its own punishment. (Proverbs 14:12, 2 Peter 2:9, Job 8:4, Romans 1:17-32)

Some Things Are Conditional

No Respecter of Persons

Some of the gifts listed in this booklet point to a verse describing an individual person, such as Daniel being given the ability to solve hard and difficult problems (Daniel 5:12). Since God is no respecter of persons (Romans 2:11), the same gift he gave to Daniel and all the others in the Bible are gifts and abilities that are also available to you. All you have to do is ask (James 4:2).

The Bad News Gospel

Just because it says Jesus on the label, doesn’t always mean there is Jesus in the bottle! The Apostle Paul warns us that Satan has created a counterfeit, which is a “Bad News” Gospel. (Galatians 1:1-9, Acts 15:10,11 ). If someone comes and preaches a “so-called gospel” that is full of guilt, fear, shame, dread, hard rules, stringent demands and strange decrees, be careful! In the gospel of Jesus even rebukes are bathed in Love (Ephesians 4:15, 1 Corinthians 14:3, 2 Timothy 2:24,25). Remember, if it is the True Gospel, it will be full of GOOD NEWS!
