Totally
Saved -Blood on the Doorpost
I think every Christian is familiar with the story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt. You probably also know that when the destroying angel passes through the land, every firstborn child was killed -- unless there was lamb's blood on their doorposts. If the angel of the Lord saw the blood, he "passed over," and the people inside the house were spared from death. Exodus 12:21-23 |

You probably also know that the Lamb's blood was a symbol for Jesus, dying for you and me on the cross. Because he shed his blood for our sins, death "passes over" us, and we receive his gift of eternal life. |

The wonderful news about this story is the angel didn't go peeking in the windows to see if the Israelites happened to be sinning! If the angel of death saw the Lamb's blood, he looked no further. Everyone inside was spared and saved, no matter what they were doing at the time. Of course, I'm sure that as they heard the screams of Egypt, they were not busy sinning, but instead Israel no doubt trembled soberly before the outpoured wrath of God. |

Of course as a Christian, you want to "keep sin to a minimum" in your life, and it definitely should be your goal to eliminate willful sinning entirely. But at the same time, rejoice greatly that as a Christian, you are covered with the blood of Jesus, and when God looks at you, He sees the blood and looks no further! People don't go to hell because of their sins, they go to hell because they didn't get the blood! |
If you have Christ's blood on you, the angel of Death doesn't look in your windows, because he sees that you are already bloodstained, and he knows that you are TOTALLY SAVED! |
