Satan has done has job well. Most Christians know they have been adopted into God's family the moment they accept Jesus as their Savior, and yet we still fail to see the connections between our earthly family and our new heavenly family.

You who are parents: Do you kick your children out of your family when they sin? NO! Why then do you think our Loving Heavenly Father kicks you out of HIS family when you sin?

Some people reply that God doesn't kick us out, but rather, we "self-kick" ourselves out of God's family! Give me a break! I don't know about you other Christians, but when I used to watch questionable movies, I  STILL wanted to be saved!  I knew what I was doing was wrong, but I STILL wanted to go to Heaven!  I liked the excitement of what I was seeing, but at the same time I STILL loved Jesus! How then can these critical Christians tell me that my decision to watch those movies caused me to "self-kick" myself out of God's family?

The Bible has a different view of what it means to belong to God's family. Here is what my Elder Brother Jesus says:

"Jesus replied, 'I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a a son belongs to it forever."  John 8:34

As a human being, I was born as a "slave to sin." As a Christian adopted into God's family, I became a "Son of God." How long am I a son or daughter in God's family? Jesus says FOREVER! To become a son or daughter forever means that I am TOTALLY SAVED!
