Totally
Saved -Dirty Feet
Unfortunately, Christians sin. That's what this whole issue of being Totally Saved is all about: What happens to the Sinning Christian? If a person became a Christian and never sinned again, it would be obvious to everyone that of course that person would end up in Heaven! Obviously God is pleased with them. It's those Sinning Christians we're not so sure about! |
So we ask the question: What DOES God do with the Sinning Christian? The answer: He washes their feet! |
When Jesus was with his beloved disciples at the Last Supper, he wanted to show them the "fullness of his love," John 13:1-5 and he showed that love by "washing their feet." When Jesus came to Peter, Peter protested, but Jesus replied, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me." John 13:8 That frightened Peter, so he said to Jesus, "Well then, wash ALL of me!" |

Here is the key verse to being Totally Saved:
When you became a Christian, you were baptized, and your whole body was washed clean. Now as a Sinning Christian, are you supposed to go and get yourself rebaptized? Jesus said NO! As a Sinning Christian, you now have "dirty feet." You don't need to be rebaptized, you just need to "have your feet washed," which Jesus does for you when you ask forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 |
As a Sinning Christian, you might have "dirty feet," but the rest of your body in God's eyes is still "clean." This can only mean that in God's eyes, you are TOTALLY SAVED! |
