God uses the symbol of a dead husband to show how secure our eternal salvation really is. Paul tells us that everyone who is born is "married to the Law." Romans 7:1-6   Unfortunately, this husband named Law is a very cruel man, who constantly criticizes and condemns us for not being a "good enough wife."

Since God says that marriage is "till death do us part," we have a serious problem, since our husband law lives forever! Since this man won't die, there is only one way to escape his daily torment, and that is for US to "die." Once God declares us "dead," our marriage contract to this cruel man named Law is rendered void, and we are set free.

Of course, the Bible is speaking symbolically -- when you are baptized as a Christian, God calls that "your death." The terrorizing condemnation of your old husband law now has no power over you, and you are free to marry a new husband, who is absolutely loving, gentle and kind. His name is Jesus. He is so tender and peaceful and loving and sweet, that his nickname is "Lamb."    Revelation 21:9,10

Even though you might be a Sinning Christian, your old husband Law has no power to condemn you any longer. Only your husband Jesus can do that, and this is what he says about you as his bride:

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:1,2

Your husband Jesus says that he no longer condemns you even before you stop sinning John 8:11   So don't let your old husband the Law condemn you anymore. Because you are now married to Jesus, you are no longer condemned, and you are most assuredly, TOTALLY SAVED!
