Totally Saved  -Mildew             Hit Counter

Did you know that God gave Moses a whole set of laws concerning mildew? Leviticus 13:47-59  Personally, with all the cares, concerns, troubles, trials and catastrophes that fill our world, I don't really think God is all that concerned about mildew.

When Jesus talked with his disciples, he warned them to "beware of the yeast of the Pharisees." Matthew 16:5-12   Jesus was not worried about yeast, but he was worried about the teachings of the Pharisees, and he used yeast as a graphic illustration of how the poison of the Pharisees' teachings could spread quickly and completely, infecting everyone. God isn't concerned about yeast and he isn't concerned about mildew, but He is concerned with the "mildew of the human heart."

And what is the lesson of the mildew? Well, there are at least two kinds: the first is a spreading mildew, which is destructive, and can only be dealt with by destroying it with fire. The second kind is a non-destructive, non-spreading mildew, which can be cleansed with water, and then it fades away

I believe that the two mildews both represent sin in a person's life. The destructive mildew symbolizes those people who refuse to be saved by accepting Jesus as their Savior. At the Judgment, they will be burned with fire. Revelation 20:1  Those with non-destructive mildew represent Sinning Christians. Yes, they can be lost if their sin transforms into destructive mildew, but most likely, as they are "washed in the Living Waters of God's Word," the sinning in their life will eventually just "fade away."

The lesson of the mildew teaches us that you can be a Sinning, Mildewed Christian, and yet still remain TOTALLY SAVED!
